On October 22, 2026, marking the 27th memorial anniversary of the late Deshabandu Dr. Hudson Silva, founder of the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, and the 14th memorial anniversary of his wife, an alms-giving to the Buddhist clergy was held for 25 Buddhist monks at the Society’s headquarters.
During this ceremony, merit was transferred to the late Dr. Hudson Silva, his wife, and the hundreds of thousands of donors who donated their eyes and tissues by traditional pouring of water.
In addition to this, lunch was also provided to the residents and staff of the National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa.
