“Annual Pahan Pinkama”, a religious ceremony to bestow merit on Late Deshabandu Dr. Hudson Silva and Mrs.Silva and those who donated eyes and tissues, was held at the historical “Anuradhapura Ruwanweli Maha Seya” on October 2024 with the participation of a large gathering of devotees.
A few buses left from the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society head office carrying members of the society, the staff and relatives of those who donated eyes and tissues.
A beautiful perahera with the participation of devotees bearing the “Kanchuka Flag” was started at 3.00 pm from the Sunatha Pilgrim Rest House and reached the Ruwanweli Maha Seya and a “Bodhi Pooja” was conducted to bestow merit on Late Deshabandu Dr. Hudson Silva and Mrs. Silva and those who donated eyes and tissues.
On completion of the religious activities, a Gilanpasa Pooja was held for the monks of Atamasthanaya with the participation of officers of the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society.
The following day, the devotees were able to pilgrimage the historical “Atamasthanaya” at Anuradhapura.
