An eye camp was conducted from June to December 2025 to provide free cataract surgery to selected low-income cataract patients from various parts of the island.
A total of 1454 patients underwent cataract surgery through the eye camps, which were held in two phases. All these surgeries were performed by the consultant eye surgeon Dr. Jayan De Silva.
The Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society spent nearly Rs. 50 million on this project, which was carried out by providing all the necessary food, medicines, medical reports, and other items to all the participating patients free of charge.
