Dr. Palitha Mahipala, Secretary of the Ministry of Health, inaugurated the special project of supplying intraocular lenses to the National Eye Hospital by the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society to provide them to patients from low-income families who have to wait on long waiting lists for cataract surgery due to the shortage of lenses.
This ceremony was held on 30th July 2024 at 10.00 am at the National Eye Hospital Auditorium with the participation of Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara, Director of National Eye Hospital, Dr. Kusum Rathnayake and many distinguished guests.
The Honorary President of the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, the Honorary President of the Board of Trustees and a group of officers and staff members also participated in that event.
