The National Eye Donation Day fallen on the 18th December 2020 was celebrated on informal manner with the participation of officers and all staff of the society and without any outside participants as per the guidelines issued by the Government on Covid 19 pandemic.
On completion of offering flowers to bestow merit to the Founder of the eye movement the traditional oil lamp was lit by the officers of the society.
Hon. President Mr.Hewa Wellalage Piyadasa delivered the memorial speech on Late Deshabandu Dr. Hudson Silva. On completion of that, Financial rewards was offered to employee Mr.P.Dharmasena who has completed 25 years of service in the society. Rs.10,000.00 each was given to 02 students namely Miss H.W.Buhansa Methuli Senethya and Mr.Nethula Thathsilu, the children of the staff who have been got high marks in the 5th Standard Scholarship examination in the year 2020. The staff of the society too was given some financial rewards to the said 02 students.
