Commemorative Ceremony of the National Eye Donation Day which was fallen on the 18 th December 2021 has been celebrated with limited number of participants due to Covid 19 pandemic and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the health authorities. Officials from the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, Few members of the working committee, executive committee and the staff were participated at the event.
In this program dry ration parcels were handed over among the members of Sri Lanka Visually Handicapped Congress and in symbolizing the event few parcels were given to those who have been presented at the ceremony.
In addition to that few parcels of study materials were given to children of the staff. The special event of this ceremony was the Director General of the Central Cultural Fund Prof. Gamini Ranasinghe has delivered a speech on the occasion. A special congratulatory message sent by Eye Surgeon Dr.Kusum Rathnayake was presented to the ceremony by the Senior Manager of the International Eye Bank Mr.Janath Saman Matara Arachchi Memorial speech on Late Deshabandu Dr. Hudson Silva was made by the Hony. General Secretary Mr.E.M.H.B.Moragaswewa (J.P.) and the vote of thanks was given by the Hony. President Mr.Sunil Amarasiri Gunawardena while Hony. Treasurer Mr.A.B.A.Sampath De Silva coordinated the entire ceremony.
