The second annual eye camp, which was successfully held from 23rd to 26th of December, 2023 enabled the completion of 508 cataract surgeries for patients in low-income families selected from island-wide. Especially, the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society has spent over 20 million rupees for this programme, and all the surgeries were performed by Consultant Eye Surgeon Dr.M.Shamintha Amaratunge. The eye camp was held on the basis of a humanitarian mission, and all the IOLs, medicine and meals were rendered free of charge to all 508 patients.
