According to Ampara District Secretary’s recommendation, a “Sisu Netraloka” program was held to check the eyes of school students on 19th September 2024 at Am/Dewalahinda Vidyalaya. There, the eyes of 208 students studying in that school, 97 students studying in Am/Koknahara Kanishta Vidyalaya, 45 students studying in Am/Galkanda Vidyalaya, and 06 students studying in Am/Aluth Ela Vidyalaya were examined. In all, 23 visually impaired students were provided with high-quality spectacles that improve distance and near vision worth Rs.100,000.00.
Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society also provided transport facilities to the students except those who studying at Am/Dewalahinda Vidyalaya to be participated in this program.
