The 11th “Sisu Netraloka” program launched to check the eyes of school students was held at Am/Gramani Maha Vidyalaya on 16th October 2024 as per the recommendation of the Galle District Secretary. The eyes of 81 students studying in that school, 47 students studying in Balapitiya Kanishta Vidyalaya and 125 students studying in Am/Ampe Kanishta Vidyalaya were examined, and 20 visually impaired students were identified in all those schools. In the future, they will be provided with high-quality glasses that improve distance and near vision.
In addition, Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society provided transport facilities to the students of the Balapitiya Kanishta Vidyalaya and Am/Ampe Kanishta Vidyalaya to be participated in this program.
