“Sisu Nethraloka” an eye-checking program to identify low-vision students from low-income families and provide them with high-quality spectacles, was held at R/Nugadanda Maha Vidyalaya on 14th July 2023.
248 students were checked during this program and 21 students identified as having low-vision, were given high-quality spectacles later. Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society spent Rs.84,000.00 for those spectacles. One student with an eye disease was directed to get treatment.
This school was chosen through the District Secretary of the Rathnapura District and this was the first program of a series to be held in every district of the country.
