“On the occasion of the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, which fell on May 12, 2025, a Vesak Dansala was held at the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society Headquarters premises on Vidya Mawatha, Colombo 07, for over 5000 people who came to witness the Vesak festival in Colombo on the night of May 13 and 14, 2025.
The visitors were treated to yellow rice, string hoppers and bread, and were given the opportunity to taste ice cream as a dessert. In conjunction with this Dansala, a melodious Dhamma sermon by Ven. Prof. Malwane Chandrarathana Thero.
The large Buddhist flag, designed in front of the headquarters building using beautiful light bulbs, attracted everyone’s attention.
