“On the occasion of the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, which fell on May 30, 2026, a Vesak Dansela was held at the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society Headquarters premises located on Vidya Mawatha, Colombo 07 for over 4,000 people who came to witness the Vesak celebrations in Colombo on the night of May 31 and June 01, 2026. The participants were treated with yellow rice, String Hoppers and bread, and were given the opportunity to taste ice cream as a dessert.
The large Buddhist flag, which was designed on the Society’s headquarters building using decorative light bulbs, attracted everyone’s attention, and a short film showing the services of the Eye Donation Society was also screened.
